It was gifted to me by a friend for Christmas, and it seemed ideal to kick off the 52 books challenge with. I usually dont read historical novels like this, but my friend has a thing for stuff involving the Tudors and sometimes that comes through in her gifts. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. Mary Seymour is the daughter of Henry the Eighth’s sixth wife, Katherine Parr, and as her mother died 6 days after childbirth, and her father was executed for treason, she was sent to live with a guardian. It follows Mary’s life as a lady in waiting for Queen Elizabeth I, and her life at Court. Plenty of delicious scandal and mystery occurs when one is at Queen Elizabeth’s Court, apparently.

Im not entirely sure that I can do it, but Im going to give it a shot. Hopefully I’ll keep up with it and post here about every week so that I can keep track of what I’ve been reading. Now I just have to find 52 books to read!
